Clinical Trial to Evaluate Efficacy of 3 Types of Treatment in Patients With Pneumonia by #COVID19 (Covid-19HUF): ensayo clínico en Hospital Universitario de Fuenlabrada

Aparece ya en ClinicalTrials.gov que ya está aprobado y activo (fase 2) el ensayo patrocinado por el Hospital Universitario de Fuenlabrada y el CNIO, y liderado por el internista del HUF David Bernal Bello, denominado Clinical Trial to Evaluate Efficacy of 3 Types of Treatment in Patients With Pneumonia by COVID-19 (Covid-19HUF). Se estiman resultados para septiembre de 2020.

Se trata de comparar cuatro terapias distintas para pacientes con neumonía derivada de COVID19: Hidroxicloroquina, Lopinavir/ritonavir, Imatinib y Baricitinib:

In absence of vaccine and medications specifically designed to treat SARS-CoV-2 disease, identifying treatment options is critical at this time to control the disease outbreak. For this, we have designed a phase II trial of efficacy and safety with 3 branches of different combinations of treatment to identify which is the best early treatment option for patients with pneumonia due to SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) Identifying treatment options as early as possible is critical to the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak response. Currently, there is no approved vaccine for the disease and the treatments being used are not specifically designed for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, but are different groups of drugs used for other pathologies with mechanisms of action that justify their use because they inhibit entry of the virus into virus cells or proteases.

Además nos comunican desde Elsevier que han montado un centro de recursos (COVID19 Healthcare Hub) que incluye acceso abierto a las últimas prácticas y recursos basados ​​en evidencia para COVID-19, que cubre desde el manejo de síntomas hasta el diagnóstico, el tratamiento y el bienestar continuo relativo a la enfermedad. El sitio web es fácil de navegar pero prometen continuar mejorándolo ¡admiten sugerencias! :-)

Actualización de contenidos en ExpertPath y STATdx sobre #COVID19

Nos informan desde Elsevier que tanto ExpertPath como STATdx han actualizado sus contenidos con las últimas informaciones disponibles sobre el coronavirus COVID19. Para localizarlos no hay más que acceder y buscar por la palabra clave coronavirus una vez identificados o pulsar en los siguientes enlaces para ExpertPath o STATdx. Estas dos herramientas de apoyo a la toma de decisiones diagnósticas están disponibles a través de la Biblioteca HUF en su portal A17.

Acceso multiusuario a CINAHL (Ebsco)

EBSCO y sus socios editores están trabajando juntos para ofrecer un mayor acceso al contenido en línea para ayudar a apoyar a las instituciones durante esta crisis que estamos viviendo. En el caso de la Biblioteca del HUF nos afecta en nuestro acceso a CINAHL, principal base de datos bibliográfica sobre Enfermería y ciencias afines a nivel mundial, de la que solo tenemos contratado un acceso simultáneo pero que, gracias a que están levantando todas las restricciones de usuario simultáneo en EBSCOhost, nos va a permitir consultarla varios a la vez. Este acceso de usuario mejorado está disponible ahora y permanecerá vigente hasta el 30 de junio de 2020.

CINAHL es una de las bases de datos incluida en la alerta bibliográfica de nuestros escritorio virtual sobre el COVID19, por tanto si veis algún artículo con el logo de Ebsco os llevará a la base de datos y podréis consultarlo independientemente de que otra persona eté haciéndolo.

COVID-19 y la colaboración espontánea de los profesionales de las bibliotecas de Ciencias de la Salud en España

En el blog Universo Abierto, de Julio Alonso Arévalo (Universidad de Salamanca), se ha publicado el texto de Maribel Domínguez Aroca (Universidad de Alcalá) sobre la iniciativa #AyudaBiblioteca. Puede leerse a través de COVID-19 y la colaboración espontánea de los profesionales de Ciencias de la Salud en España. La Biblioteca del Hospital Universitario de Fuenlabrada colabora con la creación y mantenimiento del escritorio virtual Coronavirus SARS-COV-2.

Nueva pestaña del escritorio virtual Biblioteca HFLR sobre COVID19

Entre los recursos de información que elaboramos en la Biblioteca HUF está el escritorio virtual de Ciencias de la Salud de la Biblioteca HFLR, una colección de recursos de información y alertas organizados en distintas pestañas y que mantenemos en continua actualización. Hemos creado una nueva pestaña denominada «Coronavirus COVID19« en la que podéis encontrar mucha información y alertas bibliográficas sobre el tema. Debido a la inmediatez que se requería la lanzamos ya aunque iremos incorporando más enlaces y alertas en estos días (cualquier aportación es bienvenida también).

Por otro lado, os queremos recordar que, como siempre, nos tenéis a vuestra disposición para búsquedas de información en general y obtención de documentos. Utilizad mejor el sistema centralizado http://m-hflr.c17.net para hacer vuestras peticiones porque estamos teniendo problemas con el correo electrónico y no os atenderíamos con la agilidad necesaria.

Las compañeras de Saludteca (Biblioteca Virtual Sanitaria de Extremadura) comparten en su blog Píldoras esta interesante entrada sobre novedades en UpToDate:

• UpTodate Pathway: Guías o rutas interactivas para ayudar a la toma de decisiones y reducir la variabilidad en la práctica clínica, a través de la información más relevante
• Lab interpertation, monografías que ayudan a interpretar los resultados de laboratorio anormales y a partir de ahí a elegir los siguientes pasos a dar.

Portal de recursos OVID sobre coronavirus

Si hace unas semanas hablábamos sobre el servicio de Elsevier sobre la epidemia, ahora es WoltersKluwer quien hace una selección de búsquedas en sus recursos sobre el coronavirus 2019-nCoV. En el portal diseñado al efecto se puede acceder a estrategias prediseñadas para lanzar búsquedas en OVID MEDLINE, Journals OVID y Gideon. De los tres recursos Gideon es el único al que no tenemos acceso, pero se ofrece la posibilidad de un trial de un mes. Se puede acceder a tutoriales en video sobre los distintos recursos, aunque el resultado es bastante accesible.

Webinars de formación sobre Web of Science para distintos niveles y en distintas fechas

En el marco de los servicios de las Licencias Nacionales (gestionada por la Consejería de Sanidad de la CAM en nuestro caso), FECYT, junto con Clarivate Analytics y Elsevier, pone a disposición de la comunidad científica e investigadora un módulo de formación online. El objetivo de este módulo es ofrecer un conjunto de seminarios en tiempo real que aporten información paso a paso al investigador, sobre el uso de la base de datos. Este tipo de seminarios va a ir acompañado de:

• Material de apoyo en formato pdf
• Ejercicios prácticos

A todos los usuarios que realicen formación se les enviará una encuesta de satisfacción y un certificado de asistencia vía correo electrónico. Es necesario conservar el correo de confirmación de la inscripción que envía Clarivate, ya que en él se indica el enlace al que deben acceder para realizar el curso. Nos informan desde la Biblioteca Virtual de la Consejería de Sanidad de la Comunidad de Madrid que el próximo 3 de diciembre se realizará una sesión online de una hora sobre contenidos de la plataforma OVID. Si seguís el enlace de la imagen podéis comprobar si vuestro PC está configurado para Webex y registraros. OVID como facilitador de la búsqueda y el acceso al documento en Ciencias de la Salud

OVID, la plataforma de acceso a recursos online de Wolters Kluwer, es un clásico en las bibliotecas de ciencias de la salud. A veces, con este tipo de recursos que ya damos por conocidos y sabidos, pensamos que siguen ahí y que ya sabemos lo que hacen, sin embargo, cambian, evolucionan y proponen nuevas herramientas… En este post se van a destacar algunas de las últimas que ha incorporado OVID:

 

OVID Search Builder, ubicada en la parte superior derecha del portal de recursos de la Biblioteca del Hospital Universitario de Fuenlabrada en OVID, nos facilita la construcción de una estrategia de búsqueda en MEDLINE a partir de la sugerencia de términos MeSH y sinónimos libres. Incorpora además filtros de edad, de efectos secundarios y metodológicos (clinical queries) para afinar los resultados que se nos mostrarán en el interfaz habitual de OVID y donde podremos afinar todavía más si es necesario. Disponéis de un video formativo sobre esta sencilla herramienta. Ya existía el interfaz PICO en OVID pero el OVID SB da un paso más allá.

 

En la plataforma OVID, al lado de cada referencia en la lista de resultados, ya sabemos que tenemos accesos directos al resumen, texto completo (si lo tenemos suscrito), referencia completa, etc. pero es destacable que ya está disponible también la conexión directa con nuestro sistema de petición de documentos (pulsando en Document delivery se conecta con el C17). Además se nos ofrece una consulta directa a UpToDate, sobre el tema que trate el artículo que estamos viendo, y también un enlace al traductor de Google para el resumen.

Una vez más or recordamos que para acceder a cualquier recurso de la Biblioteca HUF, tanto desde el HUF como desde fuera, tenéis que acceder a nuestro A17 donde, con una sola clave, podréis acceder a todo.
